Dresses means a style of clothing. Nowadays there are more than thousands of different types of dresses. These are characterized according to country, tradition, custom etc… It’s been said that dresses maketh the person and it’s totally true.
Dresses come in a variety of fabrics, colors and cuts. Fashion trends change the way we dress. Our dressing sense also various from age, culture & climatic conditions. Different occasions need us to dress differently.
In the summer, the common colors worn are the pastel shades and lighter fabrics like cotton. In winter and the preferred color ranges are the darker and brighter ones and the fabric is heavier like wool.
One of the most essential things that any person needs is clothing and a perfect dress satisfies that need. We all are under the impression that women have more dress options than men. While women have various dress options such as skirts, tops, saris, suits, etc… men are usually seen in their usual dress. i.e. suits, shirts, pants, ties etc… The myth that men have lesser options than women when it comes to dressing is not at all true.
In Scotland, men wear a traditional dress called the Scottish skirt. In southern India, men prefer lungis to pants. Indian freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi popularized the dress form of dhoti and kurta.
There is a popular saying that When in Rome, do as the Romans do, the same way the real dress sense is when a person adapts himself or dresses himself according to the country or place he visits. In severely cold countries like Greenland and Alaska people are most commonly found in those furry Eskimo suits that are considered as the dressing style of those countries.
Northeast Asian countries like Japan, china, Korea etc… have a totally unique form of dress for women. It’s that cute silky gown type dresses. Though many women don’t wear those regularly, it’s considered to be the traditional dress of those countries. Sari dominates a major part of India when it comes to female dressing.
The major and widely almost universally accepted dress today is Jeans. Though originally invented in U.S.A, jeans have caught up as a major craze the world over. Boys, girls, men and women the entire have at least tasted the Jeans flavor once in their lifetime.
Well we all know that as times change, things change and so does the dresses.
