The 61st Nationwide Film Prizes winners’ record has been announced nowadays. The champions consist of Arshad Warsi’s Jolly LLB as Best Function Film – Hindi, and Farhan Akhtar’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag as Best Film Offering Healthy Enjoyment (the same prize that went to Salman Khan’s Dabangg). Bhaag Milkha Bhaag also won for Best Choreography for the songs Hawan Karenge (Maston Ka Jhund) choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.
Satyajit Ray’s photographer struggles to find takers
) Famously known as Satyajit Ray’s photographer, lensman Nemai Ghosh, has worked in close association with him for over 25 years capturing the master filmmaker in his myriad moods.
During his 35-year career as a photographer Ghosh’s lens has also photographed some of India’s most haunting onscreen characters, yet for years Ghosh had found no takers for his immense collection to be archived, until just recently.
Shah Rukh given brand laureate award in Malaysia
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan attended Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohammad’s birthday where was also awarded the prestigious BrandLaureate Legendary Award.
The 47-year-old actor was given this honour by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation for his contributions to the Bollywood film industry and as India’s foremost brand ambassador.
Sholay Movie rights sold
Pritish Nandy Communications Ltd has informed BSE that it has signed a deal with Sholay Media & Entertainment, rights holders of the Sholay franchise, to officially remake Sholay, the iconic classic of Bollywood produced by Sippy Films and released in 1975 which ran for 5 and a half years, breaking all box office records.
