Virginia is the best business destination for all type of businesses, which require fast, efficient and a trouble-free working environment. This was the key message of the address by Ms Kimberly Weir, the International Investment Manager, Virginia Economic Development Partnership Division of International Trade and Investment, while addressing select industry representatives during a Session on Advantages of Virginia for Indian Companies, organised by CII Chandigarh Council here today.Ms Weir said that state-of-the-art facilities, enabling business environment and sea and air connectivity make Virginia an ideal business hub. Highlighting the specific advantages that Virginia can provide for Indian Investors, she said, “Strategic location on East Coast, world class distribution infrastructure, direct access to Washington DC, skilled workforce, favourable tax treatment and incentives and excellent quality of life make Virginia a greener pasture for investors“.
She further shared that it is home to one of the country’s busiest international airport, Washington Dulles International and the country’s fifth busiest port, Hampton Roads. Talking about Virginia’s strongest sectors, she said that High Tech Industry including Information Technology and Defence Technology and distribution and manufacturing sectors like food processing, automotive, plastics and electronics are the potential sectors to explore business ties for the Indian business community. She called for tangible action by the Indian Industry as also to cash in on opportunities available for investment in Virginia.
