In a deep despair, it is informed that Suvra Mukherjee, A renowned vocalist and painter, and wholehearted fan of our national poet, Rabindra Nath Tagore. She passed away on Aug 18, 10.51 am at New Delhi. She was ill from long time suffering from respiration problem. It is an irrevocable loss which cannot be replaced with anything else.
She had been in state of undergoing pain during respiration, brought to the hospital on Friday evening and was kept in a rigorous and intensive care portion but all efforts were proved futile as she left us forever.
She has created two good piece of writing, one is “Chokher Aloey” which demonstrates her interation with Indira Gandhi and another one is “Chena Achenai Chin” which reveals her visit to China
Being a fan of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, for many years, she has performed in his dance dramas and sangeet, not only in India, but in other countries like Europe, Africa and Asia.
She was the founder of “Geetanjali Troupe” aimed at generating Gurudev’s philosophy by performing his marvelous songs and dramas
Bearing multi talent, she was not only a fantastic vocalist but also a prodigious painter, whose paintings were so meaningful and inspirational but she used to give all credit to her mother.
