Settlement Funding is the purchasing of Settlement type payments by a company. Settlement may be divided into short-term, intermediate term, and long-term processes. A structured settlement is the payment of money for a personal injury claim where all or part of the settlement calls for future periodic payments.
There are two types of settlement funding:
Pre-settlement funding– is when a person who has been injured and filed a personal injury lawsuit receives advance funds to help fund the suit or their living expenses, in anticipation of the settlement of their lawsuit.
Post-settlement funding– is a means to access your verdicts cash award despite distribution not having yet occurring. Post settlement funding assists you as the plaintiff to go on with your life while cleaning up your debt, and recover from the legal experience.
