The whole country has been put in a state of alert and security has been beefed up in and around Ayodhya in the wake of the 13th anniversary of Babri masjid demolition.
Thirteen year ago, activists of the Sangh Parivar had demolished the 16th-century Babri mosque in Ayodhya on this day, in a fiery campaign to build a temple of Lord Rama, at the place, which they believe is his birthplace.
All sensitive points in the town like temples where preparations were on for a “Ram vivah” (Lord Ram’s marriage) ritual are being kept under a special watch.
