Different types of Depression :
1) Bipolar depression:
This type of depression is also known as bipolar disorder or manic-depression also. This depression lows alternate with terrible highs in bewildering oscillation.
2) Psychotic depression:
The symptoms of this depression include hearing voices inside one’s head, having visions of people or things that are not actually there.
3) Atypical depression:
This type of depression is very common in women. This type of depression usually begins in adolescence and it will continue throughout life if remain untreated.
4) Seasonal affective disorder (SAD):
This type of depression arises from some people’s sensitivity to seasonal changes in the amount of daylight available. Their mood changes with the season. Like, with less sunlight in the winter, some individuals become depressed and they become sad & irritable. When spring arrives with more daylight hours, their mood enhances.
5) Dysthymia:
Many people have infrequent episodes of severe depression while some suffer with recurrent or long-lasting depression. For these people, who almost always seem to have symptoms of a mild form of the illness, the diagnosis is dysthymia(minor depression). This condition requires careful treatment.
6) Postpartum depression (PPD):
This type of depression is categorize as a major depression. About 10 percent of new mothers develop postpartum depression. It is most common in women who have already experienced some form of depressive illness. Most women suffer from a down feeling the first few days after giving birth.
