Dev Anand- the living legend

The older he gets, the more energetic he becomes. Dev Anand, the veteran Bollywood actor who has mesmerised the audience with his performances in films such as ‘Guide’, ‘Kaala Pani’ and ‘Jewel Thief’, says he still has many plans for himself and the film industry.

He believes a creative actor is remembered by everyone even after his death, and insists a successful star ultimately wants to direct his own film.

Son of Devdutt Pishorimal Anand, a well-to-do advocate, the actor-turned-filmmaker graduated in English Literature from the Government College, Lahore. Later, he left for Mumbai and joined his elder brother Chetan Anand in the The Indian People’s Theater Association .

His recentlt directed ‘Mr Prime Minister’. The movie talks about the hung Parliament against the backdrop of quake-hit Kutch on January 26, 2001.
