Information and Broadcasting Minister, P R Dasmunsi said on Monday that the government was examining the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) proposal for a national action plan for digitalisation of cable television.
According to TRAI, the expansion of digital services in the country would help to provide consumers with better quality pictures as well as the ability to watch more channels.
The recommendations provide for a voluntary approach to digitalisation on behalf of both the operators as well as the consumers.
