Boodha Kedar Temple of Himachal

Filed under: Miscellaneous — sarabjeet @ 4:16 am

Approximately 120 kms from Hanogi is village Janjahali. Boodha Kedar is 9000 ft above sea level on way to Shikari Devi from Janjahali in Hiamchal Pradesh. Amidst dense forests and springs, the beauty of this place is beyond words. All the fatigue felt on the tough trek vanishes on reaching this place.

There are many caves around this area and there is a small temple of Lord Shiva under a huge rock. Mythology says that the Paandavas were wandering in this forest during their exile, when they saw Lord Shiva riding on Nandi’s back. Out of curiosity they ran towards them and Nandi entered a small cavern carrying Shiva and disappeared. The shape of that cavern is still like the back of an ox.
